The Resort at Gold Canyon Ranked #12, "A Baker's Dozen of Hidden Gems You Can Play"/ Petersen's
"The Best of Golf" Carved out of the rolling foothills of the Superstition Mountains east of Phoenix, this desert design features dramatic elevation changes and spectacular views, with multiple tee and approach shots back dropped by the legendary Superstitions. Nine holes date to 1985, while the entire configuration was established in 1997. Thick stands of desert plant life frame most of the holes, often arising out of the many arroyos that crisscross the property. Soaring elevated tees, amply wide fairways that hug the natural landscape and a plethora of wildlife characterize the golf experience. Called one of the world's "Great Places in Golf," by Golf Illustrated in 1992, no fewer than three individual Gold Canyon holes garner acclaim in the annual Arizona Republic's poll of top holes in Arizona.
